PPC 2-Tier. Or How To Get Traffic If You Are Not SEO Guru.

I am not sure whether I used a correct term (PPC 2-Tier), but I will try to explain what I mean by this in my work. I have already mentioned AdSense arbitrage and Copeac, which is a CPA network (I described it earlier in Internet Business: First Ste post).
When you read some articles, how people earn a lot of money in one or two weeks, you often just do not know where to start from. Everybody understands that to get any money, you need to have traffic on your web site. And this is not an easy task to get it, especially if you are not a SEO guru. I am, personally not. So, I do not know how optimize my pages in a right way and how to promote them for free on the Internet. For such kind of people we have different PPC systems. The most famous of them is AdWords, but there are tons of them around us. Why shell we choose something else but AdWords? First of all this is money. It is usual situation, when bids on AdWords, for keywords you want to use are ridiculously high. So, in this case, it does not make sense to use it, because you will not gain any profit from it.
So, here come other, less popular PPC networks. You can use them for everything either for AdSence or for CPA or for other purposes. I started to use some of them and will try to write reviews for all of them, so you could choose some of them for your self.

I will share my first results in this area later this week.

P.S. You can always write me an email (it is in the top left corner). I will try to answer all of them.

AdSense In Action

Everybody, who was trying to work in internet business, knows about AdSence arbitrage. To those who is not familiar with the term, it means you are buying traffic and trying to convert it into AdSence clicks. The most popular place to buy traffic for this purpose is Google AdWords. The main problem in this process is how to find right keywords. But even if you find expensive keywords for your site and AdSense, there is a problem to find cheap keywords for AdWords. So, here is a very simple method for finding expensive keywords and with not many competitors.

To find expensive and not very competitive keywords I use Google AdWords Keyword Tool.
Choose “The Site-Related Keywords” tab. Then enter http://en.wikipedia.org in URL field and select “Include other pages on my site linked from this URL”. Choose “Cost and Ad Position Estimates” and set for example $50 in a price field. That is it. Now you can press “Get Keywords” button to receive a list of keywords.

So, having this list, use Wordtracker to check amount of searches for selected keyword. It’s not necessary to have hundreds of searches. It’s important to have enough and not too many competitors for the selected keyword.

On the final step, we need to make sure that there are not too many competitors for the selected keyword. I’ve just tried to find something in the Keyword tool, just to show you what I mean. Here is a key, which was given me by the tool and which doesn’t have many competitors: "hurricane tracking program". Try to search for it in google (don’t remove brackets) and you will see that that there are only 2430 pages. So, it’s very easy to get on top with this keyword. I didn’t show better keywords, which I found there, because I am going to use them for myself.:)

Internet Business: First Steps

Today I will finally start talking about my experience working with affiliate marketing. Since now I will start share all of my results with you, so everybody can understand whether it is worth to try it or not.

I started to look at internet affiliate programs and possibility to earn money from home only several months ago. To my surprise I started to earn money, using the Internet quite quickly.

First of all I looked at AdSense.
As a start I created several blogs and started to publish articles there. But how people would know about them? Ok, I looked to the internet and created my own database of social networks, blog directories and regular directories. So, having this information I optimized my blogs for necessary keywords and registered them in the directories. And guess what, I started to earn some money. Not too much, but it was good for beginning.
Next time I will explain you, how I was selecting keywords to work with as well as how to create and link your blogs or regular sites.

So I am going to share my progress with you and if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.
By the way, I almost forgot to tell you, that I’ve started experimenting with another affiliate network, called COPEAC and it also looks quite interesting.
So, here are some of my results:

AdSense: +$348 Since the 3d April
Copeac: +$12 Since the 25th April

I believe that this is not bad, especially that I still keep my day job, so I cannot spend much time on the internet marketing. But now, I see a potential opportunity to leave my day job. Actually, this is my dream…

Internet Business Startup Tips

When you start a home based business on the Internet – or anywhere else for that matter – there are commonplace mistakes to avoid. Here are some of these mistakes.

The first tip on what not to do when you start a home based business on the Internet is to concentrate not only on the product or service you are delivering but the business management aspects of your business as well. If, for example, you worked for someone else as a Web site designer, did a great job of designing a number of laudable sites and so decided to go out on your own and start a home based graphic design firm on the Internet, you must know more than how to design the sites. You must know also how to choose your business name, write the content for the site or hire someone else to do it, advertise your service, set up and manage your accounting functions, perhaps even hire employees some day.

You must know how to set up your home office and how to manage the customer service and vendor contacts including payments and complaints. None of these things have anything to do with designing a great Web site but they all are crucial to starting a home based business on the Internet.

Many people make the mistake when they start a home based business on the Internet of taking on the wrong business partner either to gain additional finances or to increase and round out the firm’s business expertise. Some of these business partners are friends, former colleagues or family members. Most of the time these partnerships crash and burn, bringing about the additional disadvantage of ruined personal relationships as well. Before bringing in a partner to help start a home based business on the Internet, consider other financial resources and the use of consultants.

Sometimes starting a home based business on the Internet doesn’t have to mean starting from scratch, and sometimes it shouldn’t mean that. If you haven’t done your market research you may not realize that the market won’t support your product. The product may not be workable, may not have a large enough market, or the market might be saturated. There are times when the best start is buying into a proven franchise or buying out someone else who has made a success, and for some sound reason such as retirement or illness, wants to sell their proven and lucrative firm.

Some entrepreneurs start a home based Internet business but dream small dreams. They stop at the point where they are making a decent wage instead of aiming for the entrepreneurial stars.

Many start a home based Internet business by undercutting those that are already out on the web with similar products. While that may be a sound way to start, it can’t generally continue or you’ll always be fighting a battle to make a living wage and may be forced to cut quality corners, or reduce advertising and marketing tactics in order to turn some sort of meager profit. One of the best ways to compete on the web is to offer great customer service - to go beyond anonymity to warm relationships with your customers. If you start a home based business on the Internet treating your customer as if she or he is the only one that counts, you’ll have repeat business and be well on your way to netpreneurial success.

5 Steps To A Successful Internet Business

STEP 1. Find something you feel is a good business opportunity. You can scour the internet for all sorts of different business ideas and opportunities. Doing a search on any search engine with the keywords Work At Home, Business Opportunities, Home Based Business, Affiliate Programs, Make Money Online, etc., will produce 1000's of different search results. Affiliate programs are THE ABSOLUTE BEST business opportunities out there because the ONLY thing you need to do to run your internet business is to market your affiliate link. With a traditional business you must deal with inventory, storage, packing, shipping, complaints, returns, phone calls, emails, checks and credit cards just to name a few! Not so with affiliate programs, once someone has clicked on your affiliate link your only job is getting the next person to click on it. Sweet deal!

STEP 2. Get your own webpage. You want to put your internet business on a webpage of your own. A webpage is like a store front. It projects respect to your business and who you are. Think about it. Do you feel the same about buying from a vendor on the street as you do about buying from a person in a store? They’re both vendors, but the store gives you a certain feeling about the person you are buying from that a street vendor just can’t give you! Your webpage dose not have to be fancy. If you only have a brief description of what your webpage is about along with individual descriptions of your product or products people will respect that. If it is affiliate programs you have decided upon, simply put a BRIEF description of what is being offered along with your affiliate link. Do not disclose too much in your description because people might THINK they know what it is all about and not click on your link. You want to let your affiliate website do all the selling for you. These sites are professionally designed to maximize the number of people who buy or join so a brief description, just enough to spike their curiosity, is sufficient.

STEP 3. Get your own Blog and make one post a day. A Blog, short for, “Web Log,” is a great way to establish yourself as an authority figure on whatever topic you decide. As people return to read your daily articles, they will eventually come to view you as an authority on whatever your Blog is about. They will eventually develop confidence in what you are saying, and will begin to trust you. As a result some people will check out your webpage to see what you have to offer them, and people tend to buy more from people they know and trust. Their confidence in you will be an additional factor that will compel people to buy from you. There are many places online that will host and let you set up your Blog for free.

STEP 4. Put Cost-Per-Click(CPC) advertising such as Google AdSense on your website. Having Cost-Per-Click advertising on your website is a way to earn additional income that can be VERY substantial. Most people who visit your website will not buy from you. If people are going to leave your website, wouldn’t you rather them leave through a link on your website that will pay you money every time someone clicks on it? Google makes putting their AdSense on your website E-A-S-Y! The ads are relevant to the content of your website. Google can even put its AdSense on your Blog as we’ll.

STEP 5. Write and submit articles to article submission sites. This is the most important advice you need to know. This is how you will get FREE advertising! People are searching the internet for free information. When you submit your articles online, the search engines will eventually find them and will spider every word. When people do a search using keywords or phrases that are in your articles, they will turn up in the search results, so be sure to insert highly searched for keywords and phrases into your articles! You will need to include at the bottom of all your articles your bio. Your bio will contain a brief description about who you are along with a link to your website. It might read for instance [ John Doe is the owner of yoursite.com. John helps people to work at home using various business opportunities that include affiliate programs. If you desire your own home based business visit http://www.yoursite.com] The more articles you write and submit, the higher the chances are of your articles keywords and phrases showing up on search results. The more links you have pointing back to your website, the higher your websites page rank with the search engines will be, meaning the higher up on the search results will your article turn up, so don’t stop writing and submitting articles! I do want to stress however, quality over quantity. Take your time and check your spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, etc. No one will take what you have to say seriously if you don’t write correctly.

So there you have it! Having a successful internet business is simply a matter of understanding how things work, and applying that knowledge. It dose not take any special skill or any great intelligence. If you follow these five steps, you cannot fail. The most important thing, as with anything in life, is persistence. Continue following steps three and five and watch your internet business grow!

Different Types of Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing programs have never been as popular before as it is today. Why?

Affiliate marketing programs have never been as popular before as it is today. Why? There can be a number of reasons. The most probable reason, however, could be the fact that the benefits of affiliate marketing have become clearer to a lot of people now than they were before.

Today, both the merchants and the affiliates can see clearly that affiliate marketing can work for both of them. The merchant sees affiliate marketing today as the chance to advertise their products at a lower cost. The affiliates, on the other hand, sees affiliate marketing as an easy way of earning profits online by doing what they like most, and that is by creating websites.

Just as the popularity of affiliate marketing has shifted into greater heights, so has the people's outlook about it changed. No longer is affiliate marketing considered today as an alternative method for the merchant to advertise his products, or as a source of additional income for the affiliates. For merchants and affiliates alike, affiliate marketing is now considered as a main source of profits and revenues.

So the question now is what type of affiliate marketing will work best for you? Are all affiliate marketing programs the same? Are the benefits the same? Or are there affiliate marketing programs that work better than others?

There are actually different types or classes of affiliate marketing, and the number of types will depend on how one will classify them. The most basic affiliate marketing programs, however, falls under two categories: pay-per-click (PPC), and pay-per-performance (PPP).

Pay Per Click (PPC)

PPC is the most popular type of affiliate marketing for affiliates with small websites, and probably the easiest way for them to earn money. In this affiliate marketing type, the merchant pays his affiliate whenever a visitor is referred to his site, that is whenever someone clicks through the merchant's banner or text ads. The affiliate gets paid a certain amount even if the visitor he referred does not purchase anything from the merchant's site. However, typical fees for PPC affiliate programs are small, usually not exceeding a dollar for every click.

Pay Per Performance (PPP)

PPP affiliate marketing is the most popular among merchants and is also the most lucrative type for the affiliates. In this type of affiliate program, the merchant only pays the affiliate whenever his referral translates into an action—that is whenever the visitor he has referred actually buys something from the merchant's site or when the visitor becomes a lead. This means a lot of savings for the merchant. On the other hand, it becomes the most lucrative type for the dedicated affiliate, for commissions in PPP affiliate marketing usually comes in the range of 15% to 20% of the actual product sales.

Pay-per-performance affiliate marketing can be further classified into two popular types: pay-per-sales (PPS) and pay-per-lead (PPL).

Pay Per Sale (PPS)

In a pay-per-sale type of affiliate marketing, the merchants pay the affiliates a certain fee whenever the visitors he has referred to the merchant's site actually buys something from the merchant's site. Affiliates are often paid on commission basis, although other merchants would opt to pay a fixed fee. But no matter what the basis of the fee is, it is generally higher than the fee paid to affiliates in a pay-per-click affiliate program.

Pay Per Lead (PPL)

The pay-per-lead type of affiliate marketing is a slight variation of the PPS type and is often used by insurance and finance companies and other companies who rely on leads for their company to grow. In this type of affiliate marketing, the affiliate is paid whenever the visitor he referred to the merchant's site fills up an application form or any similar form related to the business of the company. Compensation for this type of affiliate marketing is based on a fixed fee whose rates approximate that of the fixed fee in the PPS type.

Aside from these three specific types of affiliate marketing, a lot of other affiliate marketing types exist. If the classification is based on the depth of the affiliate network, it can be classified as single-tier, two-tier, and multi-tier affiliate marketing. There is also another type of affiliate marketing that pays the affiliate each time the customer he has referred purchases something from the merchant's site.

Single-Tier, Two-Tier, and Multi-Tier Affiliate Marketing

These types of affiliate marketing are based on the different levels or tiers in the affiliate network by which payments are made. In a single-tier affiliate marketing program, the affiliates are only paid based on the direct sales or traffic he has referred to the merchant. All the previously mentioned affiliate marketing types (i.e. PPS, PPL, and PPC) fall under the single-tier classification.

In two-tier affiliate marketing programs, the affiliate is not only paid for the direct traffic or sales that he refers to the merchant's site, but also on every traffic or sales referred by various other affiliates who joined the affiliate program through his recommendation. Multi-tier affiliate marketing works the same way, although the affiliate gets additional commission for a wider number of affiliates in different tiers in the affiliate network.

Residual Income Affiliate Marketing

In residual income affiliate marketing, the affiliate gets paid not only once for every customer he has referred to the merchant's site. Rather, the affiliate is also paid whenever the customer he has referred returns to the site and purchase another product. Compensation for such type of affiliate marketing is based on either sales percentage commission or fixed fee basis.

The different affiliate marketing types would virtually work differently for merchants and affiliates alike, and each would generally have their own list of benefits. Which type of affiliate marketing will work best for you? It is not really for me to tell. Rather, it is for you to choose which type of affiliate marketing program will suit your needs and characteristics best.

Affiliate Marketing - The Basics

Imagine that you could earn commissions on a popular brand-name product just by placing a link on your website or in your email. That, my friends, is "Affiliate Marketing"!OK... So it's not quite that simple, but it doesn't have to be much more complicated either. Let's start with a few definitions. An advertiser, or merchant, is the company who is selling a product. An affiliate, sometimes referred to as a publisher or partner, is another person or company who assists in the promotion of the product and earns a commission for doing so. (That could be you!) In between is the account management service that partners the advertisers with the affiliates and keeps track of the sales and commissions. If you want to become an affiliate, you first need to choose either a product you want to sell, or an account management service. You will end up with both, but the choice of one will determine the choice for the other. If you choose the product first, the advertiser will direct you to the account management service that they already work with. If you choose the account management service first, they will provide you with a list of merchants that they do business with. To see if your favorite product or company offers an affiliate program, go to their website and check the menu bar or the bottom of the screen. Look around for the word "affiliate". Click on that link, read about their program and requirements, and fill out their application. Some companies require specific types of websites to place their links on. They will email you all you need to know to get started. If you don't know what specific product you would like to promote, or if you want to promote several, I recommend browsing the participating merchants on the account management service's website. Try to stick to products or ideas that you are familiar with and passionate about. It will be much easier to market to your visitors if you can add value to the link you want them to click on. Personal recommendations or stories will get way better results than just a banner or solo text link. Give them a reason to "click here".Welcome to the world of Affiliate Marketing! Good luck with your new venture!

What Is Affiliate Niche Marketing?

Affiliate marketers should never forget that all of their success depends on visitors coming to and returning to their website. If your website has nothing to offer that people are actually interested in, then you will not see much traffic. Without traffic you have no one to sell to. For this reason, the vast majority of affiliate marketing is affiliate niche marketing. Niche marketing is the trend of marketers to concentrate on very small and specific areas of a market or products and develop a loyal customer base by specializing in one or two specific areas of that market. The majority of affiliate niche marketing companies and websites realize that they cannot compete with large companies. Instead of trying to sell, for example, books in general, they concentrate on promoting books on a specific subject such as children's books, or books about dogs. By concentrating on a specific Niche Market they have a much greater chance of developing a level of success as a market leader for that niche. There are some vital and profitable areas that large companies and business owners have failed to establish themselves in as yet. Many affiliate niche marketing websites are aware of this fact. Most of the large markets with mass appeal are dominated by large companies. For a small affiliate niche market to break into such an area will be very challenging. This means that if the affiliate niche marketing strategy is able to recognize areas of the market that have real demand and the chance to develop revenue, but that the larger companies have not yet dominated, then they can put their effort into becoming a leader in this niche. The key to success in affiliate niche marketing is getting to the market first.Anyone who has been involved in affiliate niche marketing will tell you that being the first to arrive on a specific market and develop customer loyalty has a huge advantage. Niche markets have a strong habit of being widely accepted and small niches are always the next big thing. Once they become big, they are no longer a niche. This will attract larger companies who have a lot more to invest in capturing the market and will attempt to take over the market place. If you manage to get to the market before the large companies, you stand a chance of competing with them and staying one step ahead before they come with their resources and promotion. Therefore, if you are serious about being successful in affiliate niche marketing, then you should aim to identify a market that has not yet been developed and taken over by large companies.
